Modern Description: "The ""Bridge of Augustus"" was an impressively large Roman arch bridge below Narni in Umbria, built under Augustus around 27 BC to carry the Flaminian Way over the river Nera. Of the original four spans, only the southernmost remains standing. The bridge was a popular destination on the Grand Tour.
