Modern Description: The nymphaeum, part of a Roman villa complex, is situated just SE of the village of Kasnakovo, NW of Haskovo. It is the best preserved nymphaeum in Bulgaria, erected in the 2nd century CE on the ruins of an Iron Age religious center. An inscription in Greek reads: "Good Fortune: T. Flavius Quirina Beithykenthos Esbenios and Claudia Mantana his wife built the spring and dedicated it to the nymphs and Aphrodite." The water is said to have curative powers. Statuary found there includes a headless statue of Isis.
