Modern Description: Excavations uncovered a neolithic settlement near the national road near Dhrosia that is dated 6000-5000 BCE. A settlement existed in the area during the Late Classical and Hellenistic period. During the Roman Period it was a horse changing station in the Egnatia road, hence the name Ad duodecimum ("At the 12th [mile]"). (https://www.pella-museum.gr/informations/monuments/drosia)
