Modern Description: Bormiskos was a city in Mygdonia between lake Volvi and the Gulf of Strymon. It was a member of the Athenian League during the 5th century BCE. The ruins from the Archaic and Classical period in a hill near Rentina belong probably to the town of Bormiskos. Aparently its inhabitants at some point abandoned their settlement and moved to nearby Arethousa.
