Modern Description: Monte Cupolicchio is a high ridge (1100 metres) on a large mountain system located around three kilometres east of Tricarico. It has been reported as a Lucanian fortified settlement. Recent surface survey by Oliver de Cazanove failed to find any evidence of occupation, habitation or extant structures ‐ apart from a water collection trough of unspecified age. A single observation point was used at the summit.
