Modern Description: Monte Li Foi is a high mountain ‐ over 1300 metres ‐ lying approximately 8km east of Potenza. It is situated almost equidistant between the Raia San Basile network and the site of Serra di Vaglio. It has commanding views over the Basento valley and is intervisible with a large number of surrounding sites. In fact it could be seen as an ‘interconnector’ between two large visibility networks ‐ Serra di Vagilo and Raia San Basile and this is reflected in its high ‘betweenness centrality’ score. However little remains of the site today and there is there almost nothing in the way of published information of the site. Inspection on the ground was unable to locate any signs of the fortification wall and a single ‘observer point’ was placed at the highest point.
