Modern Description: Monte Boscone lies just over three kilometres south from Tempa San Nicola at Garaguso. It is situated some distance from a narrow stretch of the Salandrella valley but still has extensive views over much of the eastern approaches to the Monte Croccia network through the Salandrella Valley. The site itself has not been extensively excavated polygonal walls are reported on much of the site. Monte Boscone appears to be part of larger visibility network (the largest in the whole survey) which has Monte Croccia at its centre. It also forms along with Tempa San Nicola at Garaguso an effective control network guarding the entrance to the inner Monte Croccia network through the Salandrella valley. Completing this control network is Tempa Cortaglia. Tempa San Nicola itself it is well positioned to relay information about movement through the Salandrella valley system.
