Modern Description: Anzi is situated on a high hill overlooking the valley of the Fumi d’Anzi near the confluence of several rivers which eventually flow into the Camastra river, a tributary of the Basento. The stretch of the Camastra which flows past Anzi joins the Basento at Albano di Lucania. There is little left of the Lucanian era fortification wall at Anzi today. According to Adamesteanu, the walls were mainly destroyed in 1847 but when standing where comparable to type and size to Serra di Vaglio, Pietragalla and Satriano. De Gennaro has proposed a wall line and this is what was used to generate the observer points for the viewshed analysis.
