Modern Description: Assera was a city in Chalkidiki at the bay of Singos. The city provided Xerxes with men during the campaign of 480 BCE. During the 5th century it was a member of the Athenian League, but it revolted against the Athenians in 432 BCE. During the 4th century it was probably a member of the Chalkidian Federation.
