Modern Description: Tempa Sant’Angleo is a site mentioned in De Gennaro’s list of Lucanian fortified sites. It is generically equated with modern‐day Accettura but there is very little other information regarding its position or structure. It is mentioned several times by Lacava in reports of the 1880s/1890s, but again little information is given on its whereabouts. It is referred to as a very small site that could only hold a few people: La cinta è peraltro molto ristretta, e potè contenere pochissima gente (Lacava 1887 p.335) A single observer point was placed at the highest point of Accettura. The viewshed derived from this gives intervisibility to a number of surrounding sites but little control over surrounding communication routes.
