Modern Description: Aioleion was city in Bottike. During the 5th century it was a member of the Athenian League. At the end of the 5th century BCE the Bottiaians had formed a confederacy and became allies of Athens. During the 4th century we may guess that Aioleion was a member of the Chalkidian Federation.
