Modern Description: A colony founded by the Athenians after the middle of the 5th century BCE. Some scholars believe that it was located in Chalkidiki near Nea Sylata and others in Bisaltia. Near Nea Sylata thare are ruins of a public building, perhaps a stoa with shops, built on the remains of a Roman bath-house (5th-6th century). Cemeteries of Roman and Early Christian times.
