Modern Description: Eratyra was one of the most important towns of the kingdom of Elimeia. A Roman settlement site on Magoula hill 2.5 SW of the modern village was excavated in 1930 by Ioannis Keramopoulos. Surveys at "Ktismata" (precise location unclear) reveal fortification walls dating from the 8th century BCE. (http://www.eratyra.gr/en/)
