Modern Description: The modern town of Corleto Perticara is situated on hill near the confluence of three streams the Corleto, Cerreto and Favaletto that eventually form the Sauro. The Sauro itself then flows into the Agri. Situated at 750 metres Corleto Perticara has commanding views of the river valleys at this confluence. However there is little available data on the location of the Lucanian fortification wall that is mentioned by De Gennaro. He provides no information other than listing the town’s location. No other archaeological data is available ‐ to my knowledge ‐ of the modern town’s previous Lucanian fortifications and consequently just a single observer point has been taken at the highest point of the current settlement for an indicative location. The site is not intervisible with any other know sites and therefore there is no network to speak of.
