Modern Description: Masseria Ruppurella is an extremely small site (>0.2h) above the Sarmento valley at the confluence of the Ragone river that directly controls access along the Sarmento Valley to Cersosimo. It can be best thought of as lookout post in direct visual communication with Cersosimo, the only other site it is intervisible with. Quilici describes it as a ‘Tactical’ position. The wall line is made of polygonal masonry. It is part of the Cersosimo visibility network.
