Modern Description: The fortified acropolis with high walls still standing, on a low hill NE of Keramidi (4th century BC), is identified as ancient Casthanaea. The acropolis is separated from the lower city by a transverse wall with circular towers at each end. The city's harbour was located in the Kakorema bay.
