Modern Description: On the shore at Platanidia, remains were excavated ca 1985 of an Early Christian ecclesiastical complex at the centre of which was a basilica. Architectural sculptures of exceptional quality, opus sectile and mosaic floor (4th-5th century). A second Early Christian basilica close by, also with a mosaic floor (perhaps second half of 4th century).
