Modern Description: Remains of an unusual 6th c. BC Doric temple with decorated column capitals, identified by an inscribed dedication to Apollo, were excavated in 1994 at Lianokokkala, Moschato, 2 km west of Mitropolis in Karditsa, Thessaly. Finds included an archaic bronze statue of a bearded warrior/god. The temple burned and collapsed in the mid 2nd c. BCE. The temple is fenced and roofed.
