Modern Description: Teuma is a village mentioned only by Livy. Archaeologist Bruno Helly suggested (1992) associating it with traces of a small fortified Hellenistic settlement near Thrapsimi, Karditsa. The site is allegedly an enjoyable one-hour walk from the village plateia (direction not specified, but possibly south). The trace of the outer walls can still be followed. Near the summit, one interior gateway is preserved, and a couple of defensive towers protecting the acropolis. (http://www.thrapsimi.gr/aksiotheata.html)
