Modern Description: In 2015 a German-Turkish geo-archaeological team reported finding the third of the Arginoussai islands, now a promontory just W of Bademli village. They established via sherd scatter and other traces that the Classical through Roman harbor town of Kanai would have been located at Bademli and/or the offshore island now joined to the mainland by alluvial fill.
