Modern Description: Celathara is mentioned only by Livy, as a village plundered by the Aetolian. The name might be a scribal error. Bruno Helly has hypothesized that the remains of a Dolopian fortified settlement with well-preserved polygonal walling and Classical/Hellenistic sherds just above the village of Ano Ktimeni might belong to Celathara, since the site seems to have gone out of use around 200 BCE. A Mycenaean tholos tomb with post-Mycenaean reuse was excavated inside the walls. (http://odysseus.culture.gr/h/3/gh352.jsp?obj_id=20628)
