Modern Description: To the northwest of the village of Anavra is the peak of Paliokastro (721 m), part of which is surrounded by an impressive trapezoidal wall in regular courses, the best preserved in the whole of Epicnemidian Locris . The fortified enclosure occupied about five hundred by five hundred metres. Classical period black glaze and Hellenistic and Roman pottery were found, although Hellenistic material predominates.
