Modern Description: In course of Athens-Thessaloniki national highway construction, a sanctuary was located and excavated in 2007 on the territory of ancient Daphnous, above Agios Konstantinos in Phthiotida. Small finds, marble statues, and dedications identified it as an Asklepieon, with altar, small temple, and room for suppliants to sleep. The walls were moved 170 m E and reassembled at a safe distance from the highway.
