Modern Description: On Kastraki hill (or Kokkinovrachos) on the coast of Kyparissi is a fortified acropolis, a large area of which is surrounded by walls (4th or 3rd century BC). On an adjacent hill the foundations of a Doric temple have been excavated (finds in the Lamia Museum). On the slopes of the hill are ruined houses, perhaps from the ancient city of Anastasis or Anastasia. A Doric temple (c. mid-5th century BC) and a stoa of monumental dimensions in the Doric order (mid-6th century BC), also associated with a sanctuary, perhaps of Eukleia, have been revealed.
