Modern Description: The sanctuary of Aphrodite Syria Phistyis has been tentatively identified with ruins ca. 2,5km. from the fortified ancient city Phistyon (Neromana). The identification has been based on inscriptions found there, dating to the late 3rd- early 2nd cent. B.C.
