Modern Description: recently restored (ca. 2016) church with foundation/restoration inscription dating to 1311 and naming Antoine de Flama, a Frankish knight. The church, extended at least twice, sits atop a mosaic floor of the early Byzantine period, and with an abundance of inscriptions and other spolia built in, including the famous speech of Nero giving the Greeks their freedom. At least three layers of wall paintings, on display. The church is locked, but a friendly artisti family living across the street (peaked red roof) has a key.
