Modern Description: Found by chance in 2004 between Orchomenos and Pyrgos, most of the marble blocks of the inscribed trophy of Sulla's 86 BCE victory over Mithridates' army are reasonably intact. In 2016 it was announced that the monument would be restored to its original site, raised slightly to escape the water table. The inscription, in Greek: "Lucius Cornelius Sulla Imperator, against King Mithradates and his allies: To Ares, to Nike, to Aphrodite"
