Modern Description: "At Palaiokastro ca. 1 km W of the ruined hamlet of Aigition (Strouza until 1927). ArchDeltion 1981 B, 237 (Bommelje et al) "" The circuit-wall is not completely preserved. The eastern trace is only recognizable by occasional blocks in situ and by the morphology of the terrain. The southern, western and northern part of the enceinte and the acropolis wall are much better preserved. Extensive parts of the wall are built on flattened bedrock. The masonry is a mixture of irregular trapezoidal and polygonal style (quarry faced). The south wall of the acropolis, standing to a height of almost 3.50 m., differs in masonry style, as it does in building material. The wall is built of rather large blocks in a quite regular trapezoidal style. In the trace of the circuit wall neither posterns nor gates could be identified. Full drawings were made of stretches of the circuit and acropolis wall. The northern bastion, only identifable by rock-cuttings, and two (possible) cisterns were documented.""
