Modern Description: "The nearest village to Thermon in the plain at the eastern edge of Lake Trichonis is Sitaralona (formerly Kato Morosklavon). It is here that Rhomaios (ADelt. 2 11916] parart. 45), Klaffenbach (1G IX2.1.105 n.9), and Kirsten (RE s.v. Pamphia [1949] 307-308) would place Pamphia. We concur completely. On two hills above the village, Woodhouse found ring-walls and reasonably inferred that the two enclosures would have been united by walls running across the depression. To the north runs a ridge with the abandoned village of Ano Morosklavon. We note that a structure callcd Vaigeni lies about two hundred yards beyond the last house in the direction of the lake. Woodhouse observes. “It stands six or seven feet high and is built of narrow bricks presenting a very beautiful appearance externally.... It is chiefly noteworthy as resting on two courses of fine Hellenic blocks."" Kirsten suggests that Βαϊγένι belonged to a Roman villa. The native who directed us pointed out that there was much ceramic ware in the fields towards the lake. The report of the Dutch survey team who visited the site in 1985 is the following (p. 105): “A rather dense scatter of mainly HL pottery is to be found on a steep round detached hill to the NE of the modern village (under the deserted hamlet of Ano Morosklavon).” W.K. Pritchett, SAGT 6, p129)
