Modern Description: Unsignposed, but easily accessible from the top of Romanou St. E of Basiliko, Evvia. Apparently constructed when the Athenians sent colonists to Chalcis ca. 506 BCE, and likely destroyed by the Persians in 490. The site was explored by the BSA and the Greek Archaeological Service, revealing a long, narrow building with 20 rooms, presumably a guard barracks, and the lowest courses of a thick rubble wall guarding the SW slope.
