Modern Description: Probably a port, the point of departure of Demosthenes' expedition of 426 BC and, after its failure, a rallying point for the survivors. It was then captured by Eurylochos. On its outskirts there was a Sanctuary of Zeus Nemeios where tradition has it that Hesiod was murdered. Its location is undetermined (Magoula? or Glypha).
