Modern Description: On a gently sloping field near the proposed site of the Boeotian camp in 371 BCE, ca 700 m NW of the restored Leuktra trophy, an inscribed dedication base to Herakles Leuktriades was recovered. Dense rooftile scatter and some architectural elements suggest a sanctuary created after the battle to thank Herakles for his contribution to the Spartan defeat.
