Modern Description: Lagoon, now with a cut channel to the sea, frequented by waterskiers. Mentioned only in the Etymologicum Magnum: "Eschatiotis: Lake lying after the Isthmus, where many of those from Thrace campaigning against Athens with Eumolpos died while bathing in it. Or from Eschatiotis daughter of Poseidon. She settled there, Poseidon having prophesied for her a fragment of the sea as a bath. Later it was called Gorgopis from Gorge the daughter of Megara, wife of Korinthos. She, hearing of the murder of her children and becoming anguished, threw herself in the lake."
