Modern Description: A limestone hill N of Ag. Triada church in the Ippokratios Politia development; ht. 841 m, with spectacular views to Euboia and elsewhere. A paved road (Galinos/Pithagora/Epikourou) reaches near the summit, and a bulldozed track covers most of the remaining distance. A coarse, roughly oval wall surrounds the summit. Many Classical rooftiles, battered sherds, and at least one bronze arrowhead suggest cult activity as well as a defensive purpose. The rock-cut inscription "ΒΑΡ" is allegedly still visible a few meters W of the summit point, on a horizontal rock face overlooking a steep fall in the NW part. See Josh Ober in Hesperia .
