Remains of a Hellenistic settlement have been traced at the plateau in front of the cemetery, while traces of the Mycenaean settlement have been located on a small hill, north of the cemetery. South of Klauss, at Petroto, a Mycenaean acropolis and a geometric pitoi graveyard have come to light.
