Modern Description: "The 4th-3rd c BCE fortress of Kastraki/Kastritsa sits on a minor summit of the N spur of Mt. Pentele, commanding fine views. It is fairly easily reachable from an unsignposted trail marked by a narrow gap in a stone wall at the N end of Ioustinianou St, Nea Erythraia (go through the gap, then to the right up the stairs, turn left and walk straight on the level a few meters, to where a red-dotted trail will climb to the right up the hill to end at the modern, humble shrine of Agios Fanourios on the hill summit, inside the fort. The topographic marker is close to the S end of the fortress, a long, thin oval of 2m-thick rubble walls, described (with a plan) in James McCredie's ""< a href='http://www.ascsa.edu.gr/pdf/uploads/oa_ebooks/oa_hesperia_supplements/HS11.pdf'>Fortified Military Camps of Attica"".
Trismegistos Geo: 60782"
