Modern Description: Prompted by the regal scale of the Mycenaean tholos tomb E of Tzanata, archaeologist Antonis Vasilakis looked for, found, and excavated (2011-12) part of a substantial Late Mycenaean (1400-1200 BC) settlement at Riza locality, Tzanata, Kefallenia. The thickness of the walls suggests its identification as a major administrative complex. A Roman-era tile-grave cemetery overlay the settlement.
