Modern Description: The sanctuary was allegedly in an area called Oschophorion, from a custom of choosing young men to race with a bunch of grapes (osche) from the sanctuary of Dionysos in Athens to the sanctuary of Athena Skiras in Phaleron. By the chapel of Ag. Georgios, the oldest surviving church in Phaleron, traces of a Roman pier were discovered. The area was call Treis Pyrgoi (three towers) in Ottoman times.
