Modern Description: "Halade (""to the sea"") or Phaleric is the name give to a gate of the Themistoclean Wall excavated at Spirou Donta and Falirou sts. In 2018 parts of the wall were exposed and visible through a construction fence. The name Halade was assigned based on the theory that this is the gate through which the Mystae passed down to the sea at Phaleron on the third day of the Eleusinian Mysteries. The ancient road to Phaleron has been found 2m deeper than the level of the modern road.
[Judith Binder: Themistoklean City Wall Gates: Gate [convincingly] conjectured at Phalirou St. just southwest of Donta St.: given the [utterly confusing] modern name “Halade Gate” in the 1960s, Travlos, J. 1971,160 Gate XII “Halade Gate” 332, figs. 219, 379, 435; Conwell, D. H. 1933, 219-220; [this gate is almost certainly the one through which the Mystai go on their way to the sea (halade) mentioned in IG I³ 84 line 35]; see Halade Gate; Mystai Gate]
Trismegistos Geo: 364"
