Modern Description: The Diochares Gate in the Themistoclean Wall is named in an inscription. Part of an impressive marble monument that would have been just outside the gate is visible through glass on Voulis St. at Apollonos. A stretch of the wall itself can be visited in the basement of the Electra Metropolis Hotel, once the Ministry of Education and Religion, a building owned by the Church of Greece.
