Modern Description: The church's address on Voulefteriou St. no longer exists, that neighborhood having been sacrificed to the search for Classical Athens. Hypapante church, near the Hypapanti gate in the late Ottoman fortifications, was ruined during the Greek independence struggle. Its remains were documented before it disappeared, with photographs showing the Middle Byzantine (9th c.?) walls and and Frankish repairs/additions. Agora.ascsa.net. Post-Byzantine sherds found in the walls suggest a later dating.
