Modern Description: This stoa, presumably from the Kimonian period (2nd quarter of 5th c. BCE), is either unlocated, or else the true identification of what the Agora exavators call the Stoa Poikile, or else synonymous with the Royal stoa, beside which many herms were placed.
[Judith Binder: Herms: Stoa of the Herms, built ca. 476/5 B.C., named in two honorary decrees for hipparchs and phylarchs to be set up in the Stoa of the Herms; for other testimonia, see Agora_III, nos. 301, 305, 313; Di Cesare, R. 2001, 17-36]
