Modern Description: Tower of the Winds or the Horologion of Andronicus Kyrristus: an octagonal building located in the southeastern side of the Roman Agora in the 1st or 2nd century BC. It was a kind of weather station with a system of sundials and hydraulic clocks and a bronze weather vane on top pointing to sculptural personifications of the eight winds.
