Modern Description: Restored (2017) Ottoman-period house of the Benizelou family, with exhibits, a section of the post-Herulian wall, etc. One of the last surviving pre-1833 buildings in Athens. The Benizeloi were a prominent family that produced schoolteachers, a historian, and Saint Philothei (1522-1589), martyred by the Turks after a life of humanitarian and religious work.
