Modern Description: A wide footpath goes uphill (south) from the entrance to Dafni monastery, then turns right (west) flanking the hill. Follow the more uphill branch of the trail for about 400 meters, then take the faint goat trail going almost perpendicular to the slope. The rock face will become visible, but the cave mouth takes a last, rather steep scramble. The cave is low, paved with rocks, and full of spiders. Some modern human inhabitation (2020). John Travlos published the cave (Arch. Ephemeris 1937 vol A.) but his fine plans make the cave look considerably less unappealing than it is. The inmost chamber requires crawling, and is not recommended. An ancient retaining wall outside.
