Modern Description: On the crest of Pounta ridge E of Ambelakia, beside the fortifications, various excavations have revealed deposits from a sanctuary and three rooms of a sanctuary of the Thracian goddess Bendis (now lost), attested by an inscription honoring members of the thiasos, SEG2:10. The remains now exposed (2018) belong to a nearby sanctuary, possibly of Demeter and Dionysos. (Chairetakis dissertation 2018, p. 129)
