Modern Description: On a saddle with sweeping views to the Saronic Gulf, Piraeus, and the straits of Salamis, remnants of a small temple, a cistern, dining rooms, etc. Most of the sanctuary disappeared into a huge lime kiln just E of the dirt road. If, as seems likely, this is the sanctuary of Zeus Aphesios mentioned in a corrupt passage of Pausanias, it is tempting to associate the siting and orientation with the victory of the Greeks at Salamis.
