Modern Description: The katholikon of the Agios Ierotheos monastery, ca. 2 km west of Megara, is of small size but an original architectural plan (inscribed cross-shaped domed church, the main nave of which is unified with the cross-roofed narthex). The dome bears high quality frescoes, which date around 1180 and belong to the Late Comnenian style. Tzavella 2012, p. 359
