Modern Description: Ancient Tritaia was one of the cities of the Achaean League and later, during the reign of Augustus, was subordinate to Patra. The city's location has been identified with modern Aghia Marina. Excavations in the broader region have revealed ruins of buildings (among them a small temple) dating to various periods, from the 3rd cent. B.C. to the post-Roman era.
Tritaia had been inhabited already in Mycenaean times, as proven by the cemeteries excavated in several sites in the region.
