Modern Description: Poros foundations discovered in 1999 during salvage excavations to build the Olympic Hippodrome S of Markopoulos. The temple, and an adjoining spring house, seem to have been located in the center of the ancient deme of Myrrinous. Pausanias mentions the xoanon of Artemis Kolainis there, so the temple is thought to be of that goddess. The excavated area is a reserved area on the south central side of the enormous Hippodrome parking lot, accessible (officially) only on event days. The blocks have been covered and nothing is visible of the temple (2018). However, a substantial Roman built cistern/fountain house, 50 m ESE, is worth a look.
